This competition proved to be very popular.
32 teams entered with entries coming from
eight counties. This presented the organis-
ers with a dilemma in drawing up a format
for the competition.
In the end it was decided to run with
four groups of eight with each team play-
ing four games.

The two teams in each group with most
points and or shot diff went through to the
Cup, the third and fourth going into the
plate.
Because each team did not play
everyone in their group they were un-
aware of their position until the last games
were played, Fortunately the scoring was
computerised so the final placings were
easily determined.
The Semi-final of the Cup was Templecombe 2 v Skewen 1, with Skewen winning 7-2. The
other semi-final saw Timsbury facing Northend, with Timsbury winning 11-7. In the Cup final,
Skewen had a comfortable 13-4 over Timsbury. The Plate semi-finals saw Lea playing Winkleigh,
with Winkleigh winning 13-4 and Salem v H Block with H Block winning 5-3. In the Plate final H
Block beat the Winkleigh Drifters 7-2.
