The opening evening Bowls Drive was won
convincingly by Dave Baker, Margaret
Cousin, Philip Banner & Sheila Booker with
a plus of 20 shots, which included two con-
secutive fives.
The closest Semi-final was between
Bob Cousins and Dave Baker, in a local;
Derby. With just two ends to play in this two-
bowl tournament, Dave Baker had a single

semi experienced Philip Wright faced newcomer Margaret Cousin and duly won 9 - 2. In the
final Dave Baker was in sparkling for and beat Philip Wright 7 - 3 with ends still to play.
Denise Harvey was once again in action with playing
partner Bob Cousins. In their semi-final they beat Philip &
Marnie Wright 11 - 1. In the other Semi-final, Roger & Sheila
Booker took a 6 - 2 lead after six of the ten ends but with just
one end to go John Paddy and Pam Fayers had fought back
to 6 all but on the last end Roger & Sheila scored the vital
singles that took then into the final.
The final was a cracker of a match and with just one

In the first Triples Semi-final Eileen Bellett, Sheila &
Roger Booker eased to a comfortable 9 - 2 win over Bob
Cousins, Dave Baker & Margaret Hastings. In the other semi-
final. Richard, Mary & John Paddy eased to a10 - 5 win over
Janet Vaz, Philip & Marnie Wright.
In the final, up to the 7th end, there was little in the match
