points scored and shots difference.
The competition was close with 14 of the 28 games being decided on less than 5 shots.
After completion of the first group, Mark Village had a perfect record with 4 wins. The only
team who could stop them winning was Wellsway who had won their first 3 games with a su-
perior shot difference.
Their final game was against Winterbourne, after 2 ends the score was 1 shot each,
however on the 3rd end and Winterbourne holding 1 shot, their skip, which had the last bowl,
attempted to daw for a second only to give the shot to Wellsway. The next 4 ends were closely
contested with Winter-
bourne winning 3 of them
for an overall victory 5
shots to 3. Thus, Well-
sway finished runners up
and Mark Village were de-
clared the winners.
This year’s charity
was Weston Hospice,
many thanks to all who
donated prizes resulting in
raffle takings over £200.

The event could not have taken place without the support of the club members and
volunteers who worked hard laying out equipment, organising the raffle, serving drinks and
most of all the preparation and serving of the lunch time meals. Anyone interested in giving
bowls a go, you are free to attend our meetings on Wednesday afternoon’s at 2pm or Friday
evening’s at 7pm.
