SUFFOLK ANNUAL CASH CHARITY PAIRS
This year, our Annual Charity Cash Triples Tournament was in aid of East An-
glian Children’s Hospices. The day is organised over 2 sessions 45 mins apart
with everyone playing 4 games of 9 ends over 45 minutes, with one session
playing and the other sitting out,
tea and coffee is available all
day.
Teams get 4 points for a
win, 2 points for a draw and 1
point for every end won so
adding everything together can
make an interesting result as
the winners this year actually
lost a game.
The first group winner was
won by Michael Rice, Rob Hay-
ward and Donna Mills with 38
points and second was Derek
Adams, Jo Clements & Peter
Kerry with 36 points. The second group was won by Tony Earlham, Bob & Carol
Taylor with 44 points with John Chapman, Bill & Dennis Miller coming second
with 36 points.
In the best of a three-end sudden death tie break 1st end was won by
Tony’s set, 2nd end was won by Michael’s set and after a tight measure the 3rd
end was also won by Michael making their set the overall winners who received
£90 and the runners up £60.
The venue was provided free of charge by the Indoor Club, we held a raffle
also a spider and a 1 – 100 board. We had sponsorship for the prize money
and raised £740 for the day. A big thank you to all the people who helped on
the day getting there early to get the equipment out, Pam and her helpers who
were keeping the kitchen going, to Cheryl & Gloria for organizing the raffle and
everyone who donated the raffle prizes and helped clear up afterwards. A
great day was had by all
