Completed before the end of the Ming year in the reign of Emperor Kuang
dynasty, the new ancestral hall His.
lasted over two hundred years. At
that time it consisted of only one hall
or lounge and four wings with the
main door facing the east. Later on,
additional scaffolds were made and
the living quarters increased to six
wings. Some more vacant land lay
towards the west and at the rear of
the house. Two schools and a lower
shrine were also added. Renovation
continued on. The four wings within
the lower shrine were partitioned off
to create the various rooms. With
these additional two wings, the upper
and lower shrines were in proper
proportions and appeared slightly
better in layout.
Finally, the courtyard in front
of the main hall was land-scaped to
make way for the installation of four
dragon wells at each corner of the
compound with underground-
connected ducts.
Record of remembrance of Yung Mao
Ancestral Hall was contributed by
Yan Ming Shih, a 25th generation
grandson, on the 7th year of the reign
of Emperor Chien Lung, Ching
dynasty.
Reconcillation of the record book of
Yung Mao Ancestral Hall was carried
out by Yan Chi Shih, a 29th
generation grandson on the 26th
