In his lifetime, he lived in
Chuan Chou and later, moved to
reside permanently at Tao Yuan
Chang, which was known previously
as Shih Ku, Ming Kang village, Mu
Jen administrative unit, 23rd
capital, Yung Chun County.
His great-grandfather was Yan
Ju Yu, grandfather Yan Tzu Yu,
whose conferred title was Wen Ling
Lang. He was the son of forefather
Yan Meng Huai and his mother,
hailed from the Yang clan. He
became the progenitor of a long line
of descendants in the Yan clan,
which established itself into a
respected family within Yung Chun
County.
From the humble origin, his
offspring, who had succeeded in
public service, left behind their
biographic sketches from one
generation to the next.
Forefather Yan Shang Shu lived in
the period of the Sung dynasty (960-
1279 AD.)
Forefather Yan Nai was his eighth
generation descendant. This great
granduncle was stationed in Honan
province to take charge over peace
and stability matter in this region
and perform the duty required of a
police examiner and prosecutor of
criminal elements.
Then came forefather Yan Lung, who
was his uncle.
Forefather Yan Tan Chai lived to a
ripe old age of 61 years. He married
a maiden from the Chang clan,
whose hometown was in the 13th
capital, Tao Yuan Chang district,
known previously as Chih Ching
village, Ying Fu administrative unit,
Yung Chun County. She was the
only daughter of Chang Shu Ning.
They became the parents of
two sons as well as two daughters.
The eldest son and heir in the family
was named
1. Yan Chi, who married the
daughter of Su Feng I, also a
resident in Tao Yuan Chang
district.
2. His second son, Yan Tsung,
who was a student in an
institution of higher learning,
married the daughter of Tsai I
Hui as his wife and she was
formerly living in Chin Chiang
County.
Of his two daughters, the eldest,
named Yan Hsien Cha, was given in
marriage to Cheng Wang. No
mention was made to the fate of the
other daughter
When he passed away,
forefather Yan Tan Chai was buried
in Tao Yuan Chang district. From
the families of his two sons, six
grandsons had been born to continue
his lineage and mourn his loss.
Beginning from the firstborn
grandson, they were:-
1. Yan Jui
2. Yan Ping
3. Yan Ying
4. Yan Chu
5. Yan Kung and, lastly
6. Yan Yung.
Forefather Yan Ping rose up in his
official capacity to become a baron
and on his death; he was buried in a
tomb on a hill-lock overlooking Hsiao
Pien hamlet, Li Jen village, Shih An
administrative unit, 11th capital
