Judge Anthony Marabella - 2021 LSBA Catherine D. Kimball Award for the Administration of Justice
LSBA Catherine D. Kimball Award Committee,
I cannot think of a more deserving individual than Judge Marabella to receive the LSBA Catherine D. Kimball
Award for the Administration of I have had the good fortune of knowing Tony Marabella since
before his rise as an outstanding attorney and distinguished His devotion to family, religion and our
community has been his life. You will not find a better-rounded individual than Judge Marabella.
I first met Tony through mutual friends and the Catholic Church when he and his law school partners
volunteered as grammar school football coaches at St. Aloysius Catholic My brothers were members
of the I soon met his lovely wi Diane and their son T Having recently moved to Baton Rouge
from New Orleans, this was the beginning of a journey I never envi Little did I know I would work as
Tony's investigator at the District Attorney's office, serve as his law clerk during law school, and become his
partner in the practice of law.
Tony was a premier defense attorney not only in Baton R but also in the State of Loui As his law
c I watched him skillfully handle extremely challenging high profile cases. I saw what it took to be an
outstanding, well prepared lawyer and how to do so with grac style and compassion while respecting
opponents in an ethical and professional manner.
Tony and I became partners the day I graduated from law school. I was extremely fortunate; I learned how
to be a lawyer from the best. We worked together for many years until I began my own practice. Tony
would soon successfully run for judge where he has served with honor, integrity and distinction.
My experience with Tony as a friend, colleague, husband, father and lawyer continued when he became a
