t Honorable Anthony "Tony" Marabella
for the Catherine D. Kimball Award
Dear Award Committee:

The Baton Rouge Bar Association has nominated retired Judge Anthony "Tony" Marabella for the
LSBA 2021 Catherine D. Kimball Award, and I write to second his nomination.

My wife and I were fortunate enough to have been neighbors of Tony and his wife, Diane, when
we were all young married couples. His reputation in the Baton Rouge legal community grew and grew

over the many years he was in private practice and over the many years he served as a judge. Tony was
an excellent lawyer before he ascended to the bench and was an excellent jurist while on the bench. He is
known for his honesty, integrity, and fair treatment of all who appeared in his court, whether they were
prosecutors, defense attorneys, jurors, witnesses, or the accused.

The Catherine Kimball Award is designed to honor those who have made a significant
contribution advancing the administration of justice in Louisiana. Tony's contributions to the justice

system go far beyond his activities and awards listed in the nomination materials, for through his

daily actions in and out of court he has exemplified for lawyers, litigants, and the public what it

means to be an honorable person who seeks to do justice in every aspect of his life.

I urge the Louisiana State Bar Association to give the Catherine D. Kimball Award to Tony Marabella.
