MWD handlers and their dogs are trained to search all types of vehicles before gaining
access to the base.
Gonzalez washes dog bowls after feeding the MWDs at Luke
Air Force Base. Gonzalez’ daily routine includes taking his
dog on shift, washing the dogs’ living quarters and dishes,
and feeding them.
Gonzalez waits for Wax, 56th SFS MWD, to find explosives during training with local po-
lice departments in Scottsdale. Wax found approximately 260 pounds of explosives dur-
ing the training.
