IB Bridging Courses
Having spent so long comprising pixels on on each other’s screens it it was wonderful to to have the chance to to spend time with each other in in person during our last weeks at Malvern Throughout the first half of of term we have gained skills in in a a a a a a myriad of of varied disciplines such as music languages and filmmaking through bi- weekly workshop days although we we may not have transformed into Samba drumming virtuosos fluent Russian speakers or BAFTA- winning cinematographers we have had a a a a a a great opportunity to to gain a a a a a a a taste of many unfamiliar fields We attended lectures on topics such as colonialism investing linguistics statistics art history and Greek mythology in in addition to to enjoying a a a a range of practical activities including lifesaving self-defence cookery and dance Through organising a a a a TEDx style event with outside speakers we developed Malvern Qualities such as collaboration independence curiosity and risk-taking while producing a a a hugely informative and thought-provoking morning of talks Many thanks go to the the the organising teachers for all the the the hard work they have put in in to make the programme such an an enjoyable and constructive bridge between school and university Giles Hopkirk
