Dear Parents
Despite the wet weather, we have had a very positive and ‘action- packed’ first half of term here at Abberley Hall. As ever, I would like to pay tribute to our current parents, pupils and staff for their unfaltering positivity throughout what has been one of the most challenging of years for schools. The famous Abberley Spirit has shone brightly and my wife and I have felt extremely lucky to be a part of such a strong and supportive community.
It has been wonderful this term to start seeing life going back to normal to a degree. Covid infection rates nationally have been declining and the vaccination programme has been ‘rolling out’ with great success. Having said this, we have all read recently of the ‘Indian variant’ and I can assure you that we will not allow ourselves to become complacent.
The first half of the summer term saw a full timetable of lessons and extra-curricular activities; it was fantastic to see children fishing, riding, shelter-building, learning, debating, shooting, sailing, mountain-biking and playing a whole range of sports again, to name but a few. Hearing laughter, chatter and reunions with friends has created a magical atmosphere around our beautiful grounds once again.
We are very fortunate to have such brilliant outdoor facilities here at Abberley which will allow us to make the most of the fantastic weather during the second half of term. The lovely lawns will also be the setting for our Open Morning on the 12th June, where I very much look forward to meeting many of you. If you have not yet booked your place, then please do visit our website to do so. It will be a brilliant opportunity to see all of the exciting developments that have been taking place at Abberley in person, as well as meeting many of the pupils and teachers who will be able to answer any questions that you may have.
