       Content
The grammar section of the course will involve consolidation and deepening of knowledge of grammar covered at IGCSE, with particular focus on the following elements:
» All major tenses of the indicative and conditional moods will be revisited;
» Articles (definite, indefinite, partitive);
» Pronunciation of French – phonemes, accents;
» Numbers – ordinal, cardinal, fractions;
» Possessive adjectives and possessive pronouns;
» Demonstrative adjective and pronouns;
» Adjectives and adverbs;
» Comparative and superlative;
» Personal pronouns: subject, direct and indirect object, emphatic;
» Relative pronouns.
The cultural element of the course will introduce pupils to Francophone culture and history through a variety of topics:
» France and Francophonie;
» French music and cinema;
» The Arts and culinary culture;
» French literature – pupils will be introduced to major works of French literature and
key authors.

The aim of this course is to prepare pupils for the skills needed in French at A Level and IB. The sessions are tailored to help pupils consolidate their knowledge of the language and to encourage them to access material written in French in order to gain further knowledge of Francophone culture and history. Pupils will develop the necessary skills to learn new vocabulary and grammatical rules and will be required to incorporate language learning in their daily routine through regular access to the
