Topic
A detailed analysis of the roles and experiences of various countries during the Second World War.
Outline
Pupils will work in pairs to produce an analysis of the war-time role
and experience of a particular country. Each pair will make an online presentation to the rest of the class at the end of the process. One lesson will be assigned to each presentation. Presentations will be recorded.
Countries to be studied
Britain, USSR, USA, France, Germany, Italy, Japan.
Topics to be covered as part
of the presentation:
Background:
» Reasons for involvement and choice of sides;
» Political system of country;
» Economic situation in country.
Fighting:
» Theatres of war and battles;
» Use of technology: air, sea, and land;
» Resistance movements.
Impact of war:
» Political;
» Economic;
» Social: role of women, religion, arts, etc.
