Mr Goheen and Me

The other day I was reading the book “Seven Lessons From Heaven” where the author challenges you to go back over your history and see if you can identify divine moments where God intervened in your life. In an instant I was transported back in time to my rural home in Cooksville, Ontario. The year was either 1965 or 66. Dad had contracted rheumatoid arthritis which crippled him severely. He lost his job at the dairy. We were forced to go on welfare. It was a difficult, humbling experience for our family which at the time, consisted of me, my two brothers and baby sister.
