The Ant Story
I put my finger next to Ant and he quickly scurried over to it. I opened the door to the basket and alighted onto the grass. As soon as I did, the balloon disappeared! I’m not sure how I did this, but I was able to walk directly to Ant’s mound out of the hundreds of mounds in the park. I placed my finger on the edge of his mound and he immediately crawled off.
Without the slightest hesitation, he crawled into his hole and returned moments later carrying a granular piece of soil. He deposited it near the edge of his mound, then scurried down his hole only to quickly reappear with another piece of soil.
“Hey!” I called out, “Aren’t you at least going to say ‘good bye’?” Ant didn’t even stop to acknowledge me; he just went back and forth, back and forth. “Ant! Ant! Can you hear me?!”
