OUTCOME AND INDICATOR RESULTS TO DATE

This section below provides an overview of SECiM C2 project activities in each sub-
component within the reporting period. As shown below, the project interventions as drawn in
indicative objectives are being implemented in a variety of contexts covering four sub-
components and cross-cutting activities. As a result, these activities brought significant
positive changes in the value chain development and some insightful impacts on local
               producers and project beneficiaries.
Progress towards Outputs in line with the UN-UN Agreement are highlighted in tables 5-8
               under each sub-component.

               Sub-component 2.1 Meat value chain

Meat value chain is one of the key focus areas under the SECiM project. UNIDO’s technical
inputs to meat processors have been complementary to FAO’s work on meat production and
animal husbandry. Government of Mongolia set the meat exports as high priority under its
Action programmes. Extensive on-site assessments and trainings for slaughterhouses and
meat processors in Ulaanbaatar and rural provinces were conducted with help of
internationally certified auditors from the technical experts’ pool of UNIDO. WPO provided key
recommendations to upgrade packaging and labelling of food products in accordance with
international food safety standard requirements and suggested exports opportunity for
packaging materials. Key interventions against the project outputs and work plan activities are
               as follows.
