MACCABI TOASTMASTERS

Maccabi Toastmasters is affiliated with Toastmasters International, which teaches
public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of over 15,000
clubs.

Last financial year was a challenging year for Maccabi Toastmasters, which
quickly transitioned from full face to face meetings to on-line Zoom meetings and
one of the first Club’s to successfully trial both online and face to face Hybrid
meetings.
Last year, under the leadership of Helen Gorelik as Club President, our club
received the Select Distinguished Club Award from Toastmasters International for
the 2020-21 Year.
During the year, we honoured Leon Harari, a long standing member of our Club
and VP Publicity, receiving the Penny Fricke Memorial Award in honour of our late
President, Penny Fricke.
The award recognises a member who has contributed the most to our Club.
Annual Club contests were held in September and October 2020, resulted in the
following placegetters:

International Speech Contest:

Table Topics Contest:

Third Place: Amanda Holmes
Evaluation Contest:

Humorous Contest:
First Place: Georgia Lawson
Second Place: Miranda Davies
Third Place: Debbie Strauch
All first and second placegetters progress to the Area, Region and District
contests.
