MONITORING / DATA COLLECTION ACTIVITIES

Saimal Communications capitalized on the existing Tulonge Afya’s web based data collection tool to
support SBCC Community sensitization field crew in collecting data for conducted community activ-
ities and their respective reached target audiences. Through this platform, community engagement
activities were tracked in real time throughout the aligned implementation period and the collected
data was then shared with TMARC for report verification.

The presented data of populations reached throughout the implemented Mid Media activities was
                 obtained with below considerations in place;

                 1. The drawn route plan and community activities of an area where the Mid Media activities were
performed. This aided in justifying the number of people reached reported.

                 2. Mid Media Team engagement was done in a modality that incorporated campaign vehicles
stoping in designated site(s), then the team split into groups to reach individuals or community
groups adhering to USAID guideline of less or equal to 15 individuals attendees in one setting.

                 3. Mid Media teams ensured that they did not engage people who were not old enough to
understand key camapign messaging and as well as people who were not following on a PSAs &
Community Theatre performance at the spot. This recording of information aided in reducing
the double counting of individuals and authenticity of people reached by PSAs

For verification, the collected data of community members that participated in the PSAs & Community
Theatreactivities was then compared with data recorded during the Ward census as documented by
the community leaders (i.e. WEO). Data recording was there after done as per M&E tools provided by
                 Tulonge Afya guideline
