Cultural Shows Implementation Mechanics;
• A brief meeting was held on a daily basis prior to deployment
to align on the route plans for the day, review the previous
day’s activities, align on the projects daily implementation
picture of success and document key learnings.
• ‘TRC’ themed Community Theatre Vans were then deployed
to rove around the community with stops at crowded Ward/
Village centers as per the pre-aligned route plan. Key activating
hotspots in consideration were areas with the highest footfall
at the time of the activities such as Open Markets / Gulios,
Bus Stands, Sports Grounds, etc. where Community Theatres
could be linked with service provision.
• On arrival at a Ward / Village, the SAIMAL’s Community Theatre
Project Team Leader supported by the TMARC’s Regional
SBCC Officer and District Focal Person / CHWs set out to
engage Community Leaders. Key discussions were centered
on an insight in the areas’ geography, the extent of health
issues supported by TRC as per documented prevalence rates,
key influencers in the area that could aid the advocacy of key
health messages communicated during the campaign & key
areas in the Ward where our implementing teams could reach
out to a greater number of target audiences.
• Execution of this process ensured the Local Leadership and
all key Influencers in the areas were effectively engaged
to advocate for positive Social Behavioral Change towards
adoption of supported priority behaviours.
• With a view of scaling up Net Distribution uptake of services
in support of promoted behaviours, all Community Theatre
activities were aligned with community edutainment
addressing myth and misconceptions of the Net Usage
through makeshift hotspots sites. Information of all nearby
centers in support of supported priority behaviours was
additionally provided during the Community Theatre shows
through engagement CHWs who are well informed of their
community.
