Letter from the

           Board Chair

                                                                              Judy Graham, Chair

I am pleased to report another successful year for the EPIC BOARD OF
community despite many challenges. 2021 once again put EPIC DIRECTORS
to the test as we continued to navigate the COVID pandemic.
We are now faced with the reality that we may not be able to Judy Graham, Chair
completely eradicate COVID-19. Our goal is to make certain
that any “normalization” of COVID doesn’t leave the community Charles Sherren,
we serve unacceptably vulnerable. You will read in the CEO’s, Vice Chair
“Looking Ahead”, the steps EPIC has taken this last year to
address this goal and the challenges we continue to face. Toreico O’Neal,
Within this report, we will also share our successes in 2021 and Treasurer
           plans for 2022.

Looking forward to the future, one of the Board’s priorities this Melody Carson,
year was to work with our CEO and her leadership team in Member
reviewing EPIC’s Five-Year Strategic Plan. Ongoing challenges
of staffing and funding have only been exacerbated by the Tim Fenner,
pandemic. Although for-profit and not-for-profit businesses Member
share similar challenges related to a qualified and available
workforce, the hardest hit organizations are like EPIC’s. Robert Markham,
Simultaneously, the need for social assistance programs like Member
ours is expected to continue to rise. Although government
COVID relief programs were helpful we need to make certain
that any financial gap in the coming year(s) can be filled. EPIC Crystal Patterson,
has reached several milestones to diversify revenue and will Member
continue to strive to ensure we remain a foundation of support
for the people and families we serve. Rob Vricella,
                                                                                             Member
To assist in these efforts in support of our mission, we are
thrilled to welcome two new board members, Melody Carson Bradford L. Carson,
and Crystal Patterson. In 2022 we will continue our efforts to Emeritus
expand the board with one or two additional members.

One of the lessons that the pandemic has reinforced is that Eva Clark, Emeritus
there is no way to predict the future. What we must do is
remain steadfast in our mission and be proactive and thoughtful
in the way we do our business. It is comforting to know that we
are in the best hands with our CEO Clarissa Mitchell, who with
her leadership team, leads the organization with strength and
           compassion.
