At the start of the backswing the elbow cannot fold correctly and
the distance between the elbows increases. This is often
accompanied by a separation of the hands at the top of the
backswing.
If the left hand opens and closes
during the swing, the club will rub
a hole in the glove. The bigger
problem here is that if the left-
hand grip is loose, the right hand
will take over and dominate the
downswing. The most likely result
being casting the club at the start
of the downswing. This will often cause an out to in swing path and
make directional control difficult.
Sometimes the hole develops because the
right hand is so dominant that it twists the
club out of the left hand at impact. You
can see the dark spot on the glove where
it is starting to wear.
