impact with the right hand, often resulting in a partial release
of the left hand as the right hand dominates through the
impact area and this circumstance will frequently result in
domination by the right hand in the finish (which is often
truncated because of the tight right arm and shoulder
muscles.)
Unfortunately all of this will occur completely unconsciously
and when asked whether the grip pressure and position
remained the same throughout the swing, the golfer will
confidently assert that it did and even when shown video
evidence that the grip position changed they will say that they
were not aware of it.
Do not despair if this sounds like you. It took me many years
to fully appreciate correct grip pressure and position during
the swing but with a little practice and focus you can gain a
new understanding and appreciation for the role of the
hands during the swing.
