As Henry Ford said, “Whether you believe that you can or you
cannot, you are right.” So please believe me when I say that
you can do this if you choose to believe that you can, but you
will fail if you decide to believe that you cannot.
It does not matter whether we are talking about grip pressure,
alignment, tempo or any other facet of the game. You will not
succeed if you are not prepared to commit your efforts to
master the fundamental techniques described in this book.
Grip position is a relatively easy thing to talk about and to
illustrate with images, but Grip Pressure is a little more
difficult because it involves a subjective assessment.
Much has been written about grip pressure, and it can pretty
much be summed up as a recommendation that on a scale of
1 to 10, your grip pressure should be about a 5. Ok, great, but
what does that mean?
We know from measurements taken using a grip pressure
monitor such as this one, that golfers maximum grip pressure,
measured in pounds of pressure, can vary between 90 and
