Texas Style
Pit Bar-b-que Sauce
Ingredients
1-16 oz can of tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup vinegar
2 tbsp brown sugar
1/2 fresh onion pureed (or 2 tbsp onion powder)
1 tbsp minced garlic puree or 1 tbsp garlic powder
2 tbsp Worcestershire
1 tbsp black pepper
1 tbsp paprika
1 tsp tobacco
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp spicy prepared mustard
1 tsp liquid smoke
1 tsp favorite Cajun seasoning
Lagniappe
Puree all the garlic and onions
Add all the ingredients to a thick walled pot
Simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally
Add extra water, or cook it down to make it the consistency you like.
Let the sauce set overnight for best flavor.
