tension to secure a load to something.
8. Pull on the working end until you are satisfied with the
amount of tension on the rope.
9. When you feel like you have enough tension on the
rope, use your thumb and index finger to pinch the
rope at the point where the working end crosses over
the loop. This will keep the hitch from slipping and you
from losing tension on the rope while you finish tying
the knot.
10. To lock this hitch down, simply tie a two half hitch knot
around both lengths of rope that are secured to your
opposing anchor point described in step 5. This step is
illustrated in figure 30f.
