Terminology

Now, let’s take a moment and discuss the terms commonly
used when tying knots and working with rope. If you famil-
iarize yourself with these terms, it will make the process of
learning to tie knots much easier. Figure 6 is a photo of a
piece of rope with numbers that correspond to some of the
terms described in this chapter.
