                                                                                 Integration
                                                                                               of India

You have read about the minstrels, who used to wander from place
to place singing folk songs, in the poem ‘Wandering Singers’. There
are other forms of traditional Indian folk art that have existed in
our country for centuries. For example, Warli is one of the oldest
art forms in India that originated from the Western Ghats in 2500
BCE. In this art form, daily life activities of the tribes are shown using
                simple geometric shapes.
Look at the example below and create a Warli art of your own on a
separate sheet of paper. You can then display it in your class.

Note: A gallery walk can also be organised with all the art creations
displayed in the corridor. The learners can observe the same in
groups and share their observations about the paintings.
