Clock: Ha ha! Every day!
Rimi: (surprised) Really? How is it that I did not notice?
Clock: Because you were too busy sleeping, my dear!
Rimi: (with an embarrassed expression) Oh!
Clock: So, tell me why do you look so worried?
Rimi: My examinations are approaching and I have hardly any time left to
study.
The clock stared at Rimi.
Clock: (frowning) Of course! You juggle so many things. How can you manage
them all together?
Rimi: But I am fond of doing so many things. I can’t help it. The problem
is that, along with studies, I don’t want to stop my cycling and my
cartoons. And, what about that comic book which papa gave me? I
have to finish it and tell him the story; only then will he get me another
one. What do I do? I will not get a good score this time.
Clock: Then you should learn how to manage time!
Rimi: How does one do that?
Clock: (with pride) Well, I have a solution. You don’t have to sacrifice any of
your activities and you can still score well.
Rimi: How can I do that?
Clock: Rimi, all of us wish to do several things often, but in order to accomplish
our goals, we must learn to manage time.
Rimi: But I have never kept track of time; Mummy does it for me. I do
whatever I wish to, whenever I wish to.
Clock: (explaining through hand gestures) You must divide your entire day into
small time slots. You must allot time for all the activities that you do.
Then you will be able to do everything.
Rimi: How does one do that?
Clock: You must make a time table and allot time for each of your activity.
Time is not your enemy. Learn to befriend it.
