From Behind the StorieS
Once upon a time, there was a boy who was lazy and naughty. He wanted to play
when he wanted to, eat when he wanted to, sleep when he wanted to and laze
around when he wanted to. His parents were upset with him because of his lazy
and irresponsible ways. His father used to scold him for making excuses every time
he was asked to take the sheep for grazing. One day, he got irritated and asked his
father.
Boy: Why do I always have to take the sheep for grazing?
Father: Because no one else at home can do it. Your mother and I are busy at
the farm. Your grandmother takes care of the house. Your grandfather
is too old to take the sheep for grazing.
Boy: Is it my fault that I am so young? Besides, it is so hot outside!
However, this time his father was firm and the boy had to take the flock of sheep
towards a nearby hill with lush green grass. He left the sheep to graze on the hill.
From the hilltop, he could see the villagers working in their farms.
Boy: (thinking) This is so unfair. They can all work in their fields. They
don’t have to walk so much to reach here. This job is so boring.
