1 farmer: (raising an eyebrow) It must be one of his pranks.

2 farmer: (with a hint of doubt) Maybe. But what if there is actually a wolf there?
3 farmer: We cannot take that risk. We must rush again!

The villagers ran up the hill again. They saw the boy sitting under a tree with his
back leaning against the trunk. They all were furious this time.
Villagers: (together) You are a liar! We will not help you again!
The villagers gave angry looks to the boy and walked away. They later complained
to the boy’s father. The shepherd boy’s father scolded him for playing such a prank.
The boy promised not to do it again.
A week later, the boy went to the hill to graze the sheep. He suddenly heard a
rustling sound in the bushes. Before he could gather his thoughts, a wolf pounced
on one of the sheep. He screamed, ‘Wolf! Wolf!’ This time the villagers did not
even look up. They kept doing their work.
Villagers: (showing indifference) Just ignore him. It has become a habit.
The boy kept screaming but nobody came to help him. The wolf killed one of the
sheep and took it away. Rest of the sheep ran away and lost their way. The boy was
extremely frightened and it took him hours to gather all his sheep and take them
back to the village. He had learnt his lesson but lost a sheep.
