2. There was once a boy from Belize,
Who said, ‘I want to sneeze, I want to sneeze!’
But when they said,
‘No way, you’re not going to sneeze today!’
He shut up and enjoyed the breeze.
3. There was a young man with a pimple
Who said everything in life is simple
For weeks and weeks,
He sucked in his cheeks,
And now his pimple’s a dimple.
4. There was a Young Lady whose chin
Resembled the point of a pin.
So she had it made sharp,
And purchased a harp,
And played several tunes with her chin.
The poems above are called 'limericks'. They are funny, nonsensical verses of three long
and two short lines and were made popular by Edward Lear in the 19 century. Read over
