Travel to non-English-speaking
countries
When travelling abroad to foreign countries,
families who do not speak the local language will
need accurate translations of the key foods and
ingredients that a child needs to avoid. Various
websites provide a series of translation sheets for
various allergies (www.allergyaction.co.uk, www.
allergyuk.org, www.kidsaware.co.uk, www.
yellowcross.co.uk).
Activity
Devise a one-day menu for a 2-year-old child
who is allergic to wheat, milk, fish and soya
protein.
