Figure 6. A Model of Intercultural Language Learning Proposed by Liddicoat
                                                            (2011)

                        3) Intercultural language learning model proposed by Son & Park

The model of intercultural language learning proposed by Son & Park is a
learning model to improve learners‘ intercultural knowledge through website.

According to Son & Park (2012: 139), this model, namely intercultural language
learning website (ILLW), has key elements in developing intercultural knowledge.

Those elements are general usability, pedagogical usability, technical usability,

                        and intercultural usability.
The elements above are interrelated and supportive to each other. General

usability refers to ease of general web use and widely covers non-specific aspects
of websites. Pedagogical usability and technical usability look at pedagogical

aspects of websites respectively. Intercultural usability, on the other hand,

explores intercultural aspects of language learning websites to assess their values
in language learning. Therefore, the intercultural aspects of language learning

website usability have to promote the acquisition of the target language and
culture. The ILLW model can be seen as following figure.
