Background

The inspiration for Motherless World stems from an exploration of society’s complex
relationship with time, power, and the natural cycles of life and death. In a world increasingly
captivated by the allure of youth and longevity, the idea of an eternal, unchanging society
raises questions about the consequences of abandoning legacy, growth, and generational
continuity. This story imagines a futuristic society where technological advancements have
allowed the elite to halt aging, but at the cost of something profoundly human—the birth and
                 nurturing of new generations.

Set in New-nesia, a society governed by the wealthy and powerful, Motherless World
delves into the life of Javi, a policeman whose commitment to enforcing the government’s
policies is tested when he encounters a young girl, Abigaile, who symbolizes the innocence and
future the society has chosen to eliminate. Through Javi’s internal conflict and moral
awakening, the narrative invites readers to consider the balance between societal control and
individual conscience. It raises the question: Can a society that values only the preservation of
                 the present truly sustain itself?

This story also incorporates linguistic elements from translation and communication
theory, such as locutionary, illocutionary, and perlocutionary acts, which deepen the
characters' interactions and illustrate how meaning and intent can shift within the same words.
These elements serve to highlight how language, often manipulated by those in power, can
obscure truth or challenge it. The use of animal metaphors and proverbs offers layers of
cultural symbolism, further exploring the ways society expresses character traits and moral
                 values through language.

In Motherless World, the choice to use translation concepts underscores the notion that
meaning and understanding are not always transparent; they require interpretation and
sometimes vary depending on perspective. Javi’s journey from obedience to rebellion
represents the struggle to find truth in a world where language, law, and reality are controlled
                 by a select few.

The story challenges readers to reflect on the costs of sacrificing the future for an
eternal present and emphasizes the importance of heritage, the innocence of childhood, and
the power of hope in shaping the human experience.
