The negative effects of
blue screen time
In recent years, we all use blue screen devices, for example smart phones, laptops, computers, and I-pads. These
become an integral part of our lives. We use it every day because it is convenient, but there are negative sides that
come with prolonged viewing.
First it makes physical strain to your eyes and body. Spending long hours staring at a screen takes a toll on your
body, especially your eyes. Excessive screen time not only strains your eyes and leaves them feeling dry, but can also
lead to retina damage and blurred vision. It also affects your posture and can cause stiffness and pain both the neck
and shoulder.
Next is a sleep deprivation the amount of screen time you clock has a direct impact on how much sleep you are
getting, given that the blue light emitted from digital screens interferes with the production of the sleep hormone
melatonin in your body. Therefore, using digital devices right before bedtime makes it much harder for you to fall
asleep. There are more negative effects without sleeping. Also, there are more effects of blue screen time, example
loss of cognitive ability, impaired socializing skills, weakened emotional judgement, lower self-esteem and more. So,
we should spend less time looking at these blue screens.
For that, we should at least read real books, take walks, and real communication with
people
