P. 33
Dear Khuslen
,
You are 24 now. I hope you are still living your dream life. Fourteen year old Khuslen has no idea what
you have gone through these ten years, but if you are reading this, I know I’m proud of you.
Right now, I’m having a hard time trying to concentrate on my school and personal life at the same time.
I know these are nothing compared to adulthood problems, but remember that your younger self tried
her best to be you. I’m proud of myself for being fearless to take responsibility, and I hope I still am.
You probably changed a lot. But don’t stop reading books. All the important things I have learned are
from books. I know bad things have happened to you, but don’t drop your wholesome habits because of
your past.
Be patient, honest
Always think about others. 24 is only the beginning of your life. So, take it seriously. Don’t lie to yourself
like you used to when you were a teenager. Self-betrayal is nothing but a source of trouble. Also, ask
yourself: when was the last time you spoke to your parents? Or when did you read books with a pencil in
your hand?
Your family will always support you, and if you can find great friends, they will be there too.
You might be reading this from the yearbook and wishing you could go back in time, but also remember
that your past will not be a blueprint for your future. Forget all your regrets! Because it’s all gone.
So, go head and live your life to the fullest!
I absolutely cannot wait to be with you after ten years.
Khuslen
