Music's Impact on
People/Culture/Society
Music is a powerful combination of sounds that somehow manages to manipulate and control
people’s emotions and moods. When we’re rather despondent we often turn to music to change
our mood or escape from this harsh reality that we live in. Although it seems like a distraction to
hide the truth it actually helps you find motivation or inspiration even if it is for a small thing it can be
the beginning of a much greater path. It can also manipulate one’s sense of time as it can speed up
work or other things which is why most people listen to it while working.
For hundreds of years, it had almost complete control over society as more and more beautiful
songs come out and their writers are praised and sometimes even worshiped like a god.
Since music can embody anything it
can connect to a lot of people.
The complicated and fragile state of a human’s mind is unpredictable. It is difficult to find the “sweet
spot” of the human mind but since music can be anything it can connect to anyone. Since music can
embody anything, it can embody a specific part of society’s will and everything they stand for. This
is the reason why national anthems exist and are honored by the country and its people.
Music is also a big part of most cultures through national songs and national instruments. This is
another way to have an impact on society through music. A citizen of a country is defined by their
identities as well as their country’s culture. The influence music has on culture can even be
compared to religion. At the end of the day, a life without music is a life without meaning.
