Inside the Bubble, Craig and Claudia saw a ?ash
of light and were suddenly surrounded by thick branches
and swishing leaves. They had instantly traveled from
the Australian mangrove forest to another country far
away and landed in the highest branches of a very tall tree!
Immediately, the Travel Bug crawled up a branch to a round knothole. It ?icked its
wings and something gold and shiny appeared in the wood. It was a little doorknocker!
Claudia reached up and knocked. A small door opened and a tiny man wearing a
blue tunic and bright yellow leggings appeared.
“Hello,” he said. “I am Mortimer the Doorkeeper. Are you looking for
Fairy Land?”
“Yes!” Claudia and Craig excitedly shouted. “Is this the way?”
Before Mortimer could answer, a fairy girl appeared beside him. She had a bright,
smiling face and ?uttering butter?y wings.
“I’m Daisy Dew,” she said, “I’m here to take you to Fairy Land!”
Claudia jumped up and down in excitement,
but Craig noticed a problem.
“How are we going to come
in?” he asked. “We’re too
big to ?t through that
little doorway.”
