“Oh yes,” said Lord
Lobeil. “I can also speak the
languages of birds, butter?ies, frogs, spiders,
squirrels, and many others. What languages can
you speak?”
Craig and Claudia shook their heads. They didn’t know
any other languages.
Lord Lobeil gasped. “Goodness me! That won’t
do for traveling! Here…I have just the thing for
you.” He opened a drawer of his desk and pulled
out a woven spider’s silk wristband with a large
round face on it. “This is called a Yak-Yak.
It will translate every language in the
universe.” He fastened it onto Claudia’s
wrist. “It also measures distances
and works as a compass, a watch, a
depth ?nder, and a star identi?er.”
They spent several minutes
playing with the Yak-Yak until
Daisy Dew suggested they
