Suddenly, Kiho called out,
“There it is! The ORB! It’s ?ying
toward Liberty Island!”
The taxi made a few screeching sharp
turns and came to the edge of Manhattan
Island. But instead of slowing down, the taxi
sped up and drove right into the Hudson River with
a huge splash and magically sped across the water.
When it reached Liberty Island, the taxi rocketed from
the waves and landed in front of the Statue of Liberty.
The gigantic statue of a tall woman holding a torch
was amazing. Claudia opened the Magic Travel Book
and read:
The Statue of Liberty is a symbol of liberty and
equality. Americans believe that all people are created
equal and are entitled to basic human rights. Her ?aming
torch is a light to the world—welcoming all people of all
backgrounds who come to build a new life.
“That sounds like New York City,” said
Sari. “Everyone has the right to be free to follow
their dreams and to be accepted no matter
what their
differences are
in background
or beliefs.”
