Story 6

                    The Brave Rescue

“Bravery is choosing to act when fear is trying to hold you back.”

It was nighttime when Claudia, Craig, and the Travel Bug arrived in
the past. The sky was full of shining stars and the ground was covered with
      thousands of twinkling ?re?ies.

“I have an idea,” said the Travel Bug. It ?icked its wings and a golden

rod ?ew out from their treasure chest. At the same time, dozens of ?re?ies ?ew
into the Bubble, which shrunk and attached itself to the end of the rod. Now they
     had a lantern!

In the light, Claudia and Craig noticed that they were wearing strange
                clothes.

“We have traveled back in time 500 years to 16th-Century
England, during the reign of Queen Elizabeth,” said the Travel Bug.
“With those out?ts, you’ll ?t right in. Now, follow me—we need to

?nd a special unicorn that lives here.”
“A unicorn!” said the kids excitedly, chasing their guide.

But the Travel Bug scurried ahead quickly, and they soon lost its
trail in the thick grass. A moment later, a loud and terrifying
roar rang through the air. The friends were very scared and
searched for a place to hide. They crouched down behind the
silvery trunk of a strange tree, whose leaves had been cut into
a smooth swirl shape. Another tremendous roar echoed through
the dark. This time, the Yak-Yak caught the sound and translated:

                           “Help me!”

Before Craig and Claudia could do anything, a sleek

red fox crawled out of a hedge and whispered, “Hey, cover
