“Help!” it cried as the mysterious light pulled it up
into the ORB.
“Oh no!” shouted Claudia as the ORB zoomed away.
“We’ve got to follow it! We can’t continue our Magic
Travels without the Travel Bug!”
The kids looked around and found a man by a
taxi cab. He was waving and shouting out to the passing
people, “Come and try the newest technology—a
self-driving taxi/boat! Who wants to take a thrilling tour of Manhattan?”
Craig and Claudia ran to the taxi as four other kids were just getting inside.
“Hi,” they said. “We are Claudia and Craig from Australia. Everyone calls
us the Adventure Kids because we’re traveling the world, but our Travel Bug
has been abducted! Can we ride with you and look for it together?”
The four kids agreed and introduced themselves. There was Sari, whose family
was from Indonesia; Isabella from Italy; Kiho, who was born in Uganda; and Rami from
Israel—a truly international group!
As the taxi came to life and drove itself through the busy, honking traf?c, Craig
told about the blinking ORB.
“Hey,” said Isabella. “I’m from Queens, another borough of New York City,
and yesterday I saw something round ?ying above my house! It could have
been that ORB!”
