DAY63
THE END IS IN SIGHT
Alyssa weighed in today at 1530 grams (3 pounds, 6 ounces), so
she is still gaining one ounce per day. You can now see the
additional weight showing up on her legs and even her feet and
toes. At this rate, she should be 5 pounds in 26 days (Day 89) and
eligible to have her intestines reattached. Then after a little
th
recovery, she will hopefully be home by July 7 (Day 100). I
think the end is in sight for the first time ever! It’s amazing to
think that we are 63 days into this journey with Alyssa and our
walk with God along the way.
Alyssa did well last night with the incubator temperature turned
down. She was able to hold her own body temperature at 37
degrees Celsius (the incubator was set at 31 degrees).
And perhaps the most memorable part of the day was that Alyssa could be
held for almost 5 hours today. Alyssa clearly loves the attention and the
affection that she gets.
