American Tigers: Self-Defense & Bully Curriculum




               Pee-Wee (Character Curriculum) Day1 & Day2


                   1)  Basic warmup

                   2)  Q & A: What is a bully? What are some types of bullying? Verbal, Physical, and Cyber.

                   3)  Bully defense steps

                          a.  Confidence: tell the bully to stop because you do not like what they are doing
                              (some kids have trouble interacting and don’t know they are being bullies unless
                              they are told to stop) (Explain & Practice 10mins)


                          b.  Seek help: Ask a trusted adult to talk with the bully (some kids lack discipline and
                              how will not stop doing wrong unless they face consequences) (Explain &
                              Practice 10mins)

                          c.  Warning: Let the bully know you can and will defend yourself if you need to
                              (some kids only pick on people they consider weak and defenseless) (Explain &
                              Practice 10mins)

                          d.  Protection: Push away the arms of someone trying to push or punch using open-
                              handed outside block(s) (keep hands open so that anyone watching sees you are
                              only defending yourself and not attacking anyone) (Explain & Practice 10mins)

                   4)  Go over stranger danger: What is a stranger? Always stay in parent’s sight. Know
                       essential phone numbers.

               Junior Class: White – Orange Day1 & Day2


                   1)  Balance Based warmup (Balance is very important for taekwondo martial artists
                       especially for self-defense purposes)
