3) Standing Practice
a. Standing (face opponent while moving backwards and putting one leg under you
as you stand up)
b. Establishing stance (Just like kicking stance, place right leg in back and keep
hands up, but keep hands open (closed fists are aggressive and increase the
potential for a fight)
c. Explain vital points and how dangerous hitting them can be (nose, chest, groin,
knees)
4) Review Day1 material
a. Punch defense: Peri and push (peri punches with both right and left hands, and
push shoulders)
b. Kicking defense: Side step and basic sparring practice
Teen and Adult Class Day1 & Day2
1) Balance Based warmup with ninja roll practice (Balance is very important for taekwondo
martial artists especially for self-defense purposes & ninja rolls help with standing faster
FOR TEENS)
2) Awareness Chat – explain the importance of knowing your surrounding while
emphasizing the use of weapons:
• Keys – inconspicuous and can used to scratch and stab and attacker
• Phone – as effective as a weight (just 7 pounds of pressure can crack a clavical)
• Pen – can be used to stab vital points like face, neck, and arms
• Belt – when rapped around hand buckle can be used as a hammer
• Tightly rapped newspaper or Magazine – fast & easy to use
3) Falling Practice
a. Falling forward (focus landing onto forearms)
