     4. INTERACT WITH YOUR LISTENERS

Provide opportunities for your audience to interact with your on-air presenters. Listener loyalty
is an outcome that radio stations rely on to retain and build their audiences.

Social media interaction, talkback, and outside broadcasts are some of the common ways in
which listeners can participate and feel like they are an important part of the station.

If listeners feel like they are part of the program they are more likely to share your stream
online and through their social networks.

For this reason once you have established listener loyalty make sure you promote how they
can best share your content, promote your guests or any competitions that you may be
     running.

    5. PROMOTE YOUR STATION ON FACEBOOK

Broadcast radio can breed a lot of additional content like blogs, images, video and quotes for
    social media.

A Facebook page for your radio station is a great place to post snippets and grabs of this con-
tent and interact with your listeners regularly.

‘Top 10’ lists, ‘You’ll love this…’ posts, and ‘Great advice…’ posts, get listeners curious and keen to
interact and share your content if it’s interesting and compelling.

    6. DEVELOP AN E-NEWS NETWORK

Creating a listener database and sending it a weekly or fortnightly e-newsletter is a great way
of informing your audience of what is happening on your station.

Your programming schedule, website content, blogs, competitions, guest interviews, images
and video can be promoted, prompting your listeners to act on any calls to action you might
    have.
