o Meaning: someone whose family lacks a college-going tradition (Dennon, 2023).
o Example sentence: Many FGCS come from low-income families with minimal
exposure to higher education.
13. Student loan debt:
o Pronunciation: /ˈstudənt/ /loʊn/ /dɛt/
o Meaning: Money borrowed by students to pay for college tuition and other
expenses, which must be repaid with interest.
