NCISS 2024 Annual Meeting and Election Updates8John J. Duffy Memorial Achievement Award %u2013 Jim Zimmer(awarded four months before his passing %u2013 presented posthumously)The John J. Duffy Award recognizes members who have exhibited the highest standards of conduct and service to the investigation and security services industry by their specific deeds and accomplishments. There is no question that Jim Zimmer%u2019s professionalism and service to the investigative and security services community exemplifies him a worthy recipient of the celebrated Duffy Award. Jim joined NCISS in 1997 and served as President from 2012 to 2013. In 2023, he stepped up again as Chair of the NCISS Legislation Committee for Investigations. Soon after he launched his private investigation business, he became a member of the California Association of Licensed Investigators in 1989, then served as CALI%u2019s president from 2008 to 2010. Jim received the CALI President%u2019s Award in 2008 and the CALI Distinguished Achievement Award, CALI%u2019s most prestigious award, in 2011. Jim received his master%u2019s degree from Pennsylvania State University and has also contributed to other areas such as the Probation Community Action Association (PCAA) where he formerly served as president. Besides his great love for golf, he was also the Chair of CALIPAC and a Certified Professional Investigator.Francie Koehler, a long-time friend and colleague of Jim, accepted the award on his behalf. Wunder Memorial Award %u2013 Lisa TurleyThe Wayne J Wunder Memorial Award is given annually in memory of Wayne J Wunder, security pioneer and founder of Continental Secret Service in Toledo, Ohio as well as past president of NCISS (1984-85). The award recognizes exceptional contributions to NCISS.The 2024 Wayne J. Wunder Memorial Award was presented to Lisa Turley, of Charleston, West Virginia. Lisa is a two-term NCISS Board Chair, NCISS Past President, and Past President of the Private Investigation and Security Professionals of West Virginia (PISPWV). Lisa holds an MBA and has over 30 years of experience in the investigative field. She has extensive experience coordinating with government agencies on legislative issues. Lisa is the founder of the NCISS \iscussions, and professional development. Lisa was also the President of the West Virginia Association during her NCISS leadership.Visit the NCISS.org Wunder Award page for history and details.2024 Vinson Award for Outstanding Service - Adina ConroyThe Vinson Award for Outstanding Service is presented annually, since 2012, to an elected Director, Committee Chair, or other member in recognition of outstanding leadership, dedication, and service to NCISS, created in memory of Joseph D. Vinson, Sr.Adina fully embodies the purpose and vision of this prestigious award. She hit the ground running with many various committee accomplishments. In just a year, Adina has demonstrated excellent leadership, and has brought considerable progress and positive updates to NCISS. Already, she is as our new Vice President.
