U.S. Post Office - Informed Delivery
Kelly Riddle (Kelmar Global, San Antonio TX) shared this information with members:
I have been subscribed to the Informed Delivery program with the U.S. Postal Office for some time. If you sign up, you
get an email each day with an actual photo of the front of each item they intend to delivery that same day. A couple of
nights ago a local news program gave a good warning regarding a scam. Seems that some people are signing up on other
people's account and are watching their mail for items they want to steal (including packages) So even if you don't want
the email, you should go to their site and OPT OUT so that no one else can sign up and get your email notifications. Also
as investigators, we need to know this is happening to help solve identity and financial crimes.

Texas Privacy Restricting Bill Stopped
Texas has recently introduced three bills in an attempt to pass a state data privacy act. At least one of these bills, in its
entirety, copies verbatim the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) which was passed last year. This has been of
concern to NCISS as we have anticipated and are likely to see a national bill which will likely preempt all state attempts.
