MARGRITT
Interview with Eddie Smith
Hello Eddie and welcome to Rocknation. Many
fans are asking when will the next CD be
released, have you wrote or recorded any new
material yet?
We are currently in the writing stages. We were
hoping to be further along by now but our show schedule has been
so hectic that we haven’t had a lot of free time. We really want to pick up where we left off on the LOVE, HATE & DECEPTION CD.
That cd really captured what the band sounds like live. We want to take the same vibe that we had on that CD and build on it,
take it to another level.
Autograph bassist Randy Rand was going to make a special guest appearance at the August 3rd show but he had to cancel,
what happen to Randy?
He is dealing with some health issues right now. The doctors decided it was serious enough that they are going to operate on
him in a week or so. He should be back on his feet shortly. We are going to look at both our schedules and figure out another
date for him to come out and rock with us.
In August your band is heading out to Hollywood again to appear with GEOFF TATE’S OPERATION MINDCRIME at the world
famous WHISKY A GO GO. How excited is the band to play the WHISKY again and with a Rock Icon GEOFF TATE?
We are really excited to play the Whisky again. The Sunset Strip is legendary, so many cool bands got their start playing all
those Hollywood clubs. We are in awe every time we go out there. Playing with Geoff Tate is going to be really cool. We opened
up for Queensryche several years ago at the South Texas Rock Fest and he was amazing. I’m really looking forward to seeing
him perform the entire Operation Mindcrime, it’s going to be an epic night!!
Mad Margritt will be appearing at this year’s Rock N Skull Festival in October. Who else is on the bill and do you have anything
special the fans will see?
It is a really cool line up. It takes place over the course of three days and the lineup includes Pretty Boy Floyd, Janet Gardner
from Vixen, Roxy Blue, Punky Meadows and Frank Dimino of Angel, Tiger Tailz and a bunch of other cool bands from around the
country. Also on the bill are our new friends Wildstreet who we played with at the M3 Pre Party in Baltimore earlier this year.
What plans do you have for 2018?
We have a ton of shows that we are booked to play so that will keep us busy for most of the year. We also plan to finish up
writing all the new songs so we can get a new CD out.
Thank you for taking time for this interview. Any last words to the fans?
We just want to thank everyone for sticking with us for all these years. We have been at it for a long time and it always amazes
me how much love and support we get. We have no plans on slowing down anytime soon, we are going to keep this thing going
for as long as possible!!
